Tenuta Casadei

Our land in maremma.

Stefano Casadei chose this estate after searching for years. Before purchasing it he studied the land and took various samples of the soil to identify the characteristics and establish its potential. Indeed his œnological project was to produce an international style wine in Maremma, following his experience with the great tradition in making Chianti and the autochthonic flavours of Sardinian wines.

Today the property extends over 16 hectares, growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Moscato grapes. Thriving vineyards are grown employing the BioIntegral method, keeping intervention on the vines to a minimum and allowing them to establish roots deep in the soil. The use of our Comtois workhorses too is in pure BioIntegral style to avoid compacting the earth excessively, particularly in soils like this with high levels of minerals. BioIntegral also means adopting exclusively certified and renewable sources of energy, both in the buildings and the means of transport.

And indeed the vineyards here are healthy, thriving and inviting and the hares that can be spotted playing undisturbed provide a surprising and undisputable proof of this.
